Care Instructions
Products that do not use fabric are generally washable. If they are particularly dirty, wash them gently with a mild detergent, lightly wipe off the moisture, and then air dry them in the shade.
If splinters or rough edges appear, trim them off with nail clippers or similar tools.
Features
The ata used in ata products, which are said to last for 100 years, is a fern plant native to Indonesia. The ata stems are split into thin strands to adjust the thickness, and skilled craftsmen hand-weave them. Smoking the product with coconut shells gives it a beautiful amber color, provides insect and mold resistance, and makes it durable and resistant to deformation. It takes more than a month to make one piece, and some thinner products can take more than three months.
Because natural materials are used and each item is handcrafted by artisans, there may be slight variations in color and size, making each piece unique.
